We can't wait to meet you! Welcome Week and the start of your exciting journey at London Met is only a couple of weeks away! Congratulations on getting this far 🤩🎉
There's a lot to get involved with, including your mandatory school inductions and a calendar of social events, which you can find on your timetable. These will help you familiarise yourself with the university, have fun and make lifelong connections!

Welcome Week: 21 September to 25 September

Welcome Week is a great opportunity to find your community. Meet like-minded people from diverse backgrounds and build friendships that last a lifetime!
Explore London Met’s vibrant campuses including the libraries, gym, Student Zone, Met Cafe and social spaces. Take time to discover your favourite spots as you settle in.
What to expect:
- Get the support you need from day one! A number of teams will be available to answer questions around our campuses.
- Sign up to some amazing events organised by Met Union, your Students’ Union, including meetups, lunchtime socials and The Big Welcome Fair.
- Wellbeing and community partners fair and stall in the Met Cafe at Holloway campus on Monday 21 September.
- Get a professional photo at our LinkedIn Headshot stand in the Great Hall throughout Welcome Week.
- Dedicated support, information and events for international students.
Your first weeks at university

Starting university is an exciting new chapter, but there is a lot to think about and it can feel overwhelming.
The Student Achievement Team is here to support you, and have put together a useful checklist to help you get organised, familiarise yourself with the University and make sure you have everything in place for a confident start to your studies at London Met.

London Met essentials
The London Met Essentials induction module introduces you to university life, student responsibilities, support services available and ways to make the most of your time at London Met.
Find the module on Weblearn - it will be available shortly after you complete pre-enrolment.

Student Zone

The Student Zone is your go-to space on campus for any queries you have during your time at London Met.The Student Zone is here to make things easier for you by providing a one-stop shop for advice and support. Whether you need assistance with your course, want to find the right service, or simply aren’t sure where to start, our friendly team will make sure you get the answers you need quickly and efficiently.

ID card collection
It is really important you have your ID card with you when you're on campus. You’ll need it to access buildings (including libraries), borrow books, print, borrow laptops and sit exams.
If your ID card is ready to collect, you'll have been sent an email with instructions. ID card collection will take place from Monday 21 September to Friday 9 October 2026 between the hours of 9am to 4.30pm from the following locations:

ID card collection is only available Monday to Friday, not weekends so please do not come to campus on Saturday or Sunday. If you haven't heard from us, visit Holloway, Aldgate or Shoreditch campus and we will give you a visitor pass while we prepare your permanent student ID. Read for more information on ID cards.
Using your London Met email address
Please ensure you use your London Met email address throughout your studies. All important messages and updates from your academics and the University will go to this email address so please check it regularly.
You should always use your London Met email address when communicating with the University. Please note auto-forwarding to your personal email addresses does not work.
View your timetable
You will have received school-specific emails about your Welcome Week timetable and personal timetable - please ensure you read these.
To access your timetable for Welcome inductions and your course timetable, head to the Personal timetables page and log in using your University account details. The login details you need depends on the type of login page you see:
- Microsoft login page: Enter your full University username, for example username@my.londonmet.ac.uk, and the same password you used during pre-enrolment.
- London Met login page: Enter only the username before the @ symbol and use the same password you used during pre-enrolment.
Please make sure to check your timetable regularly as it may be updated and will be essential when you start attending classes.
Student Services and resources to support you
As you navigate your student journey at London Met, you'll be met with successes, challenges and sometimes difficult days. It's important on the days you're finding things tough, to prioritise self-care and seek out ways to make you feel better, or get the support you need. London Met has fantastic wellbeing resources and services available to you. You don’t have to struggle alone.
The advice, guidance and support that is available via our Student Services teams:
- Student Money and Accommodation Service (SMAA)
- Disabilities and Dyslexia Service (DDS)
- Counselling Service
Our teams offer confidential booked appointments (on campus and online) and regular drop-in meetings. For more information see the Student Services website.
Some top tips for the new academic year!
It is always good to be prepared, and our top tips can help you to access support quickly when you need it:
- Contact our teams before difficulties escalate.
- Download the TalkCampus app which is free for London Met students.
- Make sure you are registered with a GP. If you are yet to do this, please see NHS Find a GP website to locate one close to you.
- Check your University email account regularly – our teams will communicate with you via this route.
- Take a look at our Seasonal Support Guide where you will find lots of support / wellbeing resources, and resources that can help you to engage with others / activities.
- Follow London Met social media accounts for videos relating to wellbeing and student finance, such as ‘Financial tips and tricks to help you make the most out of being a student in London without breaking the bank’, featuring our SMAA team.

TalkCampus is a free app, providing instant peer support and you can connect with like-minded students from around the world.
TalkCampus also provides volunteering opportunities, wellbeing blogs and more.
On Campus: your student newsletter
On Campus is your student e-newsletter, sent to your London Met email address every second and fourth Thursday of the month. It includes important updates and news from the University so make sure you read and click through.
