Getting around London
If you're new to London, you may be wondering how to navigate this exciting city. Here we provide advice for travelling around the capital.
London has one of the world's largest public transport networks, making it easy to travel across the city. Whether you're commuting to campus, exploring London or visiting friends, there are plenty of ways to get around.
We recommend using Citymapper or Google Maps to plan journeys and check live travel information.
Paying for travel
The easiest way to travel in London is with a contactless bank card or mobile payment service. You can also use an Oyster card on most public transport services across London. Remember to touch in and touch out at the start and end of your journey where required.
Tube and rail
Our Holloway campus is directly opposite Holloway Road Underground station on the Piccadilly line, while our Aldgate campus is a short walk from Aldgate and Aldgate East stations. These links make it easy to travel across London and connect to major rail stations such as King's Cross St Pancras.
Bus
London's extensive bus network is a convenient and affordable way to travel, including between our campuses. Many routes operate throughout the night, helping you travel safely outside standard hours.
Walking and cycling
Many parts of central London are within walking or cycling distance of each other. Walking is often the quickest way to make short journeys, while Santander Cycles provide a convenient cycle hire option across the city.
Exploring beyond London
London is well connected to the rest of the UK via National Rail services and coach operators such as National Express and Megabus. If you'd like to visit Europe, Eurostar services operate from nearby St Pancras International.
