Booking workspace on campus during remote delivery

In line with the new lockdown measures announced by the government in early January 2021, all teaching and support is now being delivered remotely. This means our library, our COVID-testing centre, our independent workspaces, and all other buildings are no longer open, as everyone is encouraged to stay at home and take measures to reduce the transmission of the virus.

Most students will be studying remotely at present but, for those who are timetabled to be on campus, and who wish to attend, there are booking systems for PCs and independent learning workspaces at Holloway and Aldgate campuses.

At London Met we are exercising additional caution and asking everyone to wear a face-covering on campus (unless you are exempt), even if you're two metres apart.

Our MyPC booking software is now online. This new service, organised by London Met's Information and Technology Services (ITS) team, will allow you to book a PC or a MAC in a number of locations around the campus 24 hours in advance.

Please ensure your booking is made for the whole day, from 9am to 5.45pm, even if you only need the workspace for one or two hours. This will stop anybody trying to book a computer before or after your booking. It is also important that you lock the computer when you go for a break or when you've finished for the day.

Log in to the service to book a computer.

You can also read our MyPC User Guide  for further support.

To help us keep our community safe and to help stop the spread of COVID-19, please only come onto campus if you absolutely have to. At London Met we are exercising additional caution and asking everyone to wear a face-covering (unless you are exempt), even if you're two metres apart.

There are 63 independent learning spaces across the Holloway and Aldgate campuses, to be booked daily from 9am-1pm and 1.30pm-5.30pm respectively.

The minimum lead time for bookings is 24 hours and maximum is up to 7 days in advance.

The name for each workspace represents the campus ALG for Aldgate or HOL for Holloway, the floor eg 03 for third floor and the space number eg 01.

Attached are the floor plans for both campuses with the names of both the MyPC workspaces and the non-computer-based workspaces.

Staff and students must maintain social distancing, wear a face covering, and adhere to the increased hygiene measures, such as hand washing, and using your own surface wipes (or those provided) to clean the work area. Students must use the study spaces independently and must not gather in study spaces, unless as part of an in-person, scheduled seminar or tutorial.
