Your first weeks at uni
20 - 25 September
During Welcome Week, we run a fantastic programme of events and activities in partnership with the Students' Union, designed to help you settle in, make friends and adapt to life at London Met.
Get involved and find out more on the MetSu website.
London Met is committed to listening to you throughout your time at University. It's really helpful for us to hear your thoughts in the first few weeks at a new university, so we can help make sure you have the best possible experience. The Welcome to London Met Survey helps us find out how you are settling in to your first few weeks at University.
The Big Watch
As part of Welcome Week activities all new students will participate in The Big Watch. It is an opportunity to watch this year’s chosen film and then take part in interactive activities which facilitate dialogue, and explore the universal themes presented in the film.
Through The Big Watch you will have opportunities to participate in University-wide activities and make early connections with your fellow students and staff all whilst discussing important and relevant topics and themes.
After the activities and events have taken place you will be required to take a short multiple choice test which will be based on the film and the University’s inclusive values which will provides us with key tracker information to let us know that you are here, enrolled and on your way to starting your course!
Getting to know the University's online systems
During your time at London Met you'll need to use a range of different IT platforms to access things like class notes, your timetable and the library services. All of our systems have been designed to be as easy as possible to use, but to help you get started, we asked some of our current students to create some bite sized video tutorials for you. Check out all of our video guides to help you get started.
