Drinking water

We have upgraded the availability of drinking water and have created maps annotated with the locations of drinking water. We installed 18 new water fountains at the Holloway campus in academic year 2016-17 and project was completed in January 2017.

New drinking water fountain will be installed in Tech Tower 3rd floor at the end of September 2019.

In addition, all of our catering outlets owned by Chartwells (Goulston Street, Tower Building and Learning Centre) provide free drinking water.

Water coolers

The University aims for its drinking water provision to be sustainable and cost effective. Bottled water can cost up to 1000 times more than tap water with only 1 in 4 plastic bottles recycled. Due to this, London Metropolitan University encourage the use of tap water. Water coolers are no longer allowed to be installed anywhere across The University. Please refer to our Drinking Water Policy for further information.
