Non-bookable study rooms

There are 10 non-bookable study rooms available at the Aldgate Library:

  • 4 study rooms on the ground floor (Wi-Fi)
  • 5 study rooms with collaborative desks in each room on the 1st floor
  • 1 doctoral research room on the 2nd Floor

There are two rooms available at Holloway Road on the ground floor.

How do I book a Library Study Room at Holloway Road?

  1. Log into your library account
  2. From the catalogue search bar enter the word study room
  3. Select study room Holloway Road
  4. Click on the book item button.
  5. Enter your university username/password at the login prompt.
  6. Select the day and time you would like to book a room.
  7. Click submit.
  8. Choose the room number you would like by clicking on the mark column (only those available will appear).
  9. Click submit and wait a few seconds.
  10. If successful a booking confirmation will appear.
  11. Click Ok.

Please note:

  • Study rooms are for use by groups of students.
  • You can only have 1 booking at a time.
  • Booking slots are for 2 hours.
  • The person who made the booking must collect a key fob from the library information desk within 15 minutes of booking start time, or the booking will be cancelled.
  • Please return the key/fob on time at the end of the booking otherwise fines may apply.
  • All key/fobs need to be returned by 6.45pm Monday to Friday.
  • Bookings are not possible after 7pm during the week or on weekends but rooms can still be used until closing time.
  • Hot and cold drinks are permitted in study rooms provided they are in spill-proof containers, cartons, cans, or bottles.
  • No food is permitted in the study rooms.

Photography at Aldgate Library:

3D photography studio room on the First floor of the library. Bookings are set up via the library information desk as they cannot be booked online. The bookings are for two hour periods.

  • Contains table-tops for small 3-D and 2-D objects and a tripod.
This reference-only collection of practitioner resources is now located on the first floor of Holloway Library. (LC1-32)
It is exclusively for the use of students enrolled on the Legal Practice course. Digilock code access (ask the Library information desk if you do not have this).

Both Libraries have dedicated study rooms for PhD and doctoral research students and staff.

CM2-N10 - second floor of Aldgate Library - access is via your ID card.

Please keep the windows open for increased ventilation. Wipes and sanitiser are available in each room. Please wipe down the workstation area before and after use.

  • Rooms bookings will be cancelled if the access key is not collected within 15 minutes of the booking time.
  • Overdue charges will apply if the booking time slot overruns and the key is returned late to the information desk.
  • Please keep the study room tidy and clean.
  • Hot and cold drinks are permitted in study rooms provided they are in spill-proof containers, cartons, cans or bottles.
  • No food is permitted in any study rooms. Users found eating in a study room may lose access to these rooms for up to three months.
