Searching the collections

Our online catalogue provides access to descriptions of the many documents, photographs and audiovisual media held in our collections. These archives record a history of local business, community life, trade union activity and the University (including its various predecessors).

The catalogue is a great place to begin your research and can be used alongside other finding aids to locate, for example, published material within our collections.

The Library Catalogue holds records for all published material in the main libraries (Aldgate & Holloway) and much of the published material in our Special Collections.

Some of our Special Collections have not yet been fully catalogued yet and we are creating lists of their contents.

These lists can be found on the relevant collection web pages, such as the Archive of the Irish in Britain and Frederick Parker Collection. Please refer to the collection pages for more information.

You might also find our resource lists useful. We have created lists for a number of different topics.

We have been digitising resources in the Archive of the Irish in Britain and these are available for all to access for research or study in our digital archive.

Please contact us for further information on any of the collections including more information on what they hold or when they are likely to be catalogued.
