Accessing your eVisa

To access your eVisa, you will need a UKVI account.

This account will allow you to use services such as the View and Prove your immigration status, which will later allow you to prove your immigration status.

Below, we have put together a step by step guide, to help you create your UKVI and eVisa account.

To create your UKVI account, you will need:

  • Your BRP.
  • If you do not have a BRP, you can use your passport.
  • A phone with access to the UKVI Immigration ID Check App
  • Email address and a mobile phone number which you can access immediately.

To start the process, please head over to this webpage and click the Start Now button.

Once you fill in your details and create a UKVI account, you will receive email confirmation of your account creation, and you can then sign back in to complete the rest of the process.

Now that your account is created, sign back in to start the eVisa creation process.

To sign in, you will need:

  • The identity document you just used to create your account
  • Access to your mobile phone or email address

Once you have signed in, you will need to complete the short application where you will be asked to:

  • Verify your identity using the UKVI: Immigration ID Check App
  • Verify Contact details
  • Account security questions
  • Read and sign the digital declaration
  • Submit your application

After submitting your application, you should see confirmation of this on the screen, and once your eVisa is ready to view, you will get an email notification from UKVI.

If you need help with the above steps, UKVI have created this helpful video guide.

After receiving email notification from UKVI that your eVisa is ready, you will need to sign in to view it.

Make sure that you check all of your details are correct. If there is incorrect information on your eVisa, please use the Report an error with your eVisa form.

This form should be used if there is a problem with your eVisa, for example, your photo, personal details like your name, type of permission, dates, or conditions of leave. You can also use this form if you have are having issues seeing your eVisa status.

If you need further assistance, you can use the UKVI webchat to speak to an agent, alternatively, you can email the University at adviceinternational@londonmet.ac.uk

If you signed up for your UKVI account using your BRP, you must add your passport details to link it to your eVisa.

If you do not link your passport, this will result in potential problems in travelling/UK Border.

To link your passport to your eVisa account, please visit this webpage

It is crucial that you keep your UKVI account updated. For example, if you change your email or mobile phone number, please log into to your account and ensure UKVI always have your most up-to-date details.

If we have asked you for a share code to prove your immigration status to us, you will need to provide a share code for study (and not work) by visiting this webpage

If you need help retrieving this share code, UKVI have created a useful video guide which you can refer to.

Once you have your share code, it should be valid for 90 days.

You can provide this to the International Office should we request it from you.
