Groups
The counselling team run support groups throughout the academic year. For more information on each of the groups, you can also visit the Healthy Campus Initiative.
Please see details below of the group and dates they will be run, if you would like information on any of these or to book a space, please contact the counselling team.
Weekly Wellbeing Group - Drop-in sessions
The counselling team will be running weekly wellbeing drop-in sessions every Thursday 1pm to 2pm, during term-time. The groups will be held at in room TM1-33, Student Services, 1st Floor, Red Zone, Holloway campus.
Each week a space to just be you. No need to book, just drop in when you wish.
The space will offer:
- A selection of one to one and group creative activities
- Open group discussion
- An opportunity to find out more about one-to-one counselling sessions.
Survivors Group (sexual/domestic abuse) - all sessions are held in Student Services
- Term one group starts in October for six weeks
- Term two group starts in February 2025 for six weeks
The group is open to all our students
LGBTQIA+ Heartstopper themed craft and chat - all events are held in the Rainbow Room
- Wednesday 2 October: 12.30pm to 2pm to prepare for the lauch of the next season of Heartstoppers, while also meeting other LGBTQIA+ students.
- Wednesday 9 October: all day event, Rainbow Rooom - Heartstopper viewing party, drop in at any time
- Wednesday 9 October: 1pm to 2pm come in and join the conversation
- Grounding practices for LGBQIA+ students, Wednesday 6 November: Join Ruth our LGBTQIA+ counsellor to explore grounding practices
- Wednesday 12 February: 1pm to 2pm as part of LGBTQIA+ history month, Ruth will be running a creative session to explore your own past, present and future.
Mental Health and Racism - open to all students who identify as people of colour to explore impacts of racsim on mental health - held in Student Services
Grieve, Breathe and Believe
- 3 October, 1.5 hours
- February - date TBC
Navigating Neurodiversity
Thursday 10 October, 12.30pm: in person Holloway Road site
This workshop aims to offer a space to students who identify as neurodivergent to connect with others and share experiences.
It will be a space to explore the well-being and mental health challenges neurodiverse students can experience navigating life at university,
Spaces will be limited to a maximum of 14 students for this session
On 7 November 2024, the workshop will be held online
