New student information

Welcome from the Vice-Chancellor

As a new student you will spend the first few weeks meeting new people and finding your way around our buildings and learning all about the services available to you. To help you settle in quicker, make sure you take advantage of the following activities and resources:

Your course handbook contains key information on your term dates, exam dates or deadlines, contact details of staff teaching on your course, and an overview of what you will be learning throughout your course. You can access your course handbook online.
Campus tours lasting approx 40 minutes will be running regularly at the Holloway and Moorgate/Aldgate campuses between Monday 26th September until Friday 14th October. Please check back nearer to the time for confirmation of dates, times and departure locations of the tours.
I.T. plays a large part in how we study today. Being or becoming IT literate is one of the keys to succeeding in university. We will be running I.T. drop-in sessions for students to provide you with an opportunity to get some hands-on help with the main I.T. systems used at London Met.

Led by experienced London Met Success Coaches who will be able to answer questions on the following areas:

• resetting passwords
• printing and photocopying and how to add credit
• connecting to the free WIFI at London Met
• Student Zone website and what information is available to you
• how to access your university email account (Webmail) and redirect it to your personal email account
• how to log into Evision and view your attendance and results

It's a great opportunity to make new friends and immerse yourself in the University's social life. The fortnight also includes your faculty welcome event and the University's Freshers' Fairs.

All events within freshers' fortnight (except for the freshers' welcome party) are free for freshers with your complimentary wristband. You can get this from The Rocket venue on our Holloway campus or from our events team at enrolment areas and your faculty welcome events.
