Students' Union

London Met Students' Union (SU) is your ticket to opportunities, activities and events whilst you’re at university. You’re automatically a member from the day you enrol, meaning you can join student groups, access advice services and even run for election for a leadership role. The best way to find out more is to meet your SU officers or pop into the SU office on Holloway or Aldgate Campus.

Students’ unions are separate from universities and are led by students for students. They exist to represent your needs and interests whilst you are studying while also providing lots of opportunities, activities and events to improve your time at university.

At London Met Students’ Union, there are many opportunities for you to meet new people, gain new skills and enjoy your time alongside your students.

Our student groups offer the chance to get involved with student-led activities on and off campus, and cover a variety of areas; from interest and community societies to competitive sports clubs, and hands-on experience through Verve Media.

The SU is led by four full-time sabbatical officers and elected student representatives from each school, who represent the views and voices of the students here at London Met.

There’s lots more about the union but the best way to find out about it is to meet our officers or pop into our space at Holloway Campus or Aldgate Campus for a chat; we’re a friendly bunch!

Want to find out more about all the things you can get involved in? Head to our website or email us at: studentsunion@londonmet.ac.uk.

We have some really great spaces for you to use. The Students’ Union is located on both our Holloway and Aldgate campuses. The Harglenis building at Holloway is our main office, where you can come for free tea and coffee, use our microwaves, or have a go on our PlayStation. Our student receptionists can help with any queries you have, so come along and see what’s on offer.

Our Advice Service provides free, confidential and independent advice, support, and representation to all students on a range of university-related issues.  This includes but is not limited to:

  • Academic misconduct;
  • Appeals;
  • Mitigating circumstances;
  • Support at hearings and meetings;
  • Complaints;
  • Problems with your course.

We’re basically your first port of call if you get into difficulty and need some support. For further information, head to our website or email us at: studentsunion@londonmet.ac.uk.

We want to have a positive impact on your time at London Met. To help us do this, we really want to hear what you have to say, so we have a number of ways that you can make your voice heard, including:

The London Met community is incredibly diverse, so we run a range of campaigns to reflect our student body. With campaigns such as Black History Month, Green Impact, and LGBTQIA+ History Month, we want to create a community where everyone feels valued and represented. If you’ve got an idea about a campaign you’d like to run, we want to hear about it.
