We are committed to providing a high quality and responsive service and appropriate environments for study. Our Library Charter sets out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.

  • Provide a safe and welcoming learning environment
  • Treat you with respect, courtesy and fairness at all times
  • Provide a helpful and friendly enquiry service
  • Provide accurate advice and guidance on all Library services and resources
  • Provide professional subject support from your Academic Liaison Librarians
  • Give access to a range of up-to-date books, journals and e-resources in support of your studies
  • Provide access to computers, Wi-Fi, printing and copying facilities
  • Keep you informed of changes or improvements to Library services and facilities
  • Provide Library support and advice to users with disabilities
  • Listen and respond promptly to your comments and suggestions regarding our services
  • Observe all University, Library and ICT regulations and Code of Conduct
  • Show your University ID card to members of staff when asked to do so
  • Never lend your ID card to anyone else or use another person’s card and notify the library immediately if your ID card is lost or stolen
  • Return or renew your loans on time to avoid library fines
  • Treat Library materials and equipment with respect and show consideration for other users
  • Look after your personal property and keep valuable items with you at all times
  • Observe the Library Study Zone and Food and Drink policies
  • Comply with University policy which does not admit children to the Library
  • Vacate the building immediately on hearing the fire alarm
  • Give us feedback so we can make improvements
